Dr. Michael J. Peters II

Michael J. Peters II, D.O., is a graduate of Michigan State University. He obtained his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. His orthopaedic surgery residency was completed at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. In addition, he completed specialized training at Johns Hopkins Medical Center and Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr Peters has special interest in the treatment of sports - related injuries, arthroscopic surgery, and total joint replacement. Through his involvement in sports, he currently serves as the team physician for the Detroit Red Wings training camp, NHL prospect camp, Traverse City North Stars Junior A hockey program and Traverse City West and Frankfort High School athletics.

Dr. Peters is a clinical associate professor in Orthopaedic Surgery for Michigan State University medical school. Through his active participation in training residents, he was appointed "Educator of the Year" 2004. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine and the Michigan Orthopaedic Society.

Dr. Peters and his wife Erin have two sons: Carson and Cameron. His outside interest include coaching youth hockey, playing golf, music and spending time with his family
